Paper is immediate in a way other materials are not. A journal page, a collage, a stamped image, a sticker placed just right. These are decisions that happen fast, with whatever is on the table. The work in this collection lives in that space between planning and impulse, where the material is accessible enough to experiment with and personal enough to keep. A lot of this work is made to be sent. Penpalling and great mail are ongoing practices here, a way of distributing small pieces of creative energy out into the world. A carefully assembled envelope is its own kind of art object, one that only fully exists when it reaches someone else. Journals, collages, stamps, and paper stars sit alongside scrapbook pages and sketches.
